Hello everyone-

This edition is a special one, marking the 200th Edition of the NAPLEX Question of the Week. I wanted to take this unique opportunity to reflect upon the past 4 years and also provide some direction for the Class of 2023 as you begin to think more seriously about this exam which will be here before we know it!

Our team really enjoys writing these questions each week. Through the support of McGraw-Hill Education, we have been able to week in and week out provide nearly 200 questions since 2018 that have helped a number of students as they prepare for the exam. We work extremely hard to provide in depth answers with detailed rationale to not only prepares you for the exam, but cement the "why" behind the answer as you become fully licensed pharmacists. We take very seriously our role in your professional development and hope you continue to benefit from these for a long time. We also have taken a few editions to help strategize and prepare a good plan for studying. We have taken note that many pharmacy students upon licensure continue to follow the Question of the Week which is exactly what we want to see: Lifelong learning!

While I have your attention, you want some substance and not just reflection, right? Here are some great resources that you can use when studying for the exam:

1. NAPLEX Competency Statements: How do you know what areas to study? The best place is to start here: https://nabp.pharmacy/programs/examinations/naplex/competency-statements-2021/. There are several areas on the exam that you may not see on your rotations.

2. NAPLEX Central on AccessPharmacy: If you have access to this website most often through your college of pharmacy, you can access a number of high quality resources through this tab located here: https://accesspharmacy.mhmedical.com/naplex.aspx. These include the NAPLEX 4th Edition Review Guide, the NAPLEX Online Question Bank, and the newly released full-length 225 question practice exam. The practice exam is an outstanding tool that works well to use in the month or two just prior to taking the NAPLEX.

3. NAPLEX Question of the Week: Well of course! You have access to all 200 questions that you can go back and attempt at any time. Here is some of the feedback I have received from a current student and recent graduate regarding the question of the week:

"Hi Dr. Bland, I just wanted to write to you to let you know what a great resource your questions are. I am currently in pharmacy school and will be taking my NAPLEX in May '23. More than anything else, your questions have helped me fill gaps in knowledge like that "IOD" in Amiodarone, so I can remember thyroid function tests. Excellent work!!!!"

"I just wanted to thank you for your weekly NAPLEX practice questions. I’ve been doing 8 questions from your list everyday for the past few months, and I know it definitely helped me pass the NAPLEX last week. So just want to say thank you so much for your work. It is definitely appreciated."

Again our team is so grateful for the opportunity to complete these questions each and every week for your studying and knowledge. Please feel free to spread the word and provide any feedback to me at anytime. We are always looking to improve!

Back to normal for next week!

Sincerely,

Dr. B
