Addison's disease is typically caused by an autoimmune reaction but can also be caused by infections, certain medications, or other conditions that affect the adrenal glands. The common symptoms of Addison's disease include persistent tiredness and lack of energy, unintentional weight loss and loss of appetite, darkening of the skin, especially in areas of friction or pressure (a condition called hyperpigmentation), hypotension leading to dizziness or fainting, increased desire for salty foods due to low aldosterone levels, gastrointestinal symptoms, aching muscles and joints, and emotional symptoms.

Graves' disease is an autoimmune disorder that primarily affects the thyroid gland, leading to overproduction of thyroid hormones, a condition known as hyperthyroidism. Symptoms can include an increased heart rate (tachycardia), rapid and irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia), weight loss despite increased appetite, excessive sweating, heat intolerance, and nervousness. Also, there are tremors and muscle weakness, an enlarged thyroid gland (goiter), anxiety and mood changes, bulging or protruding eyes, fatigue, and difficulty sleeping, and an increased appetite.
