The FDA is warning consumers not to purchase or use erectile dysfunction medications advertised nationally on broadcast and internet radio platforms such as iHeart Radio as “healthy man alternative to the little blue pill” or “healthy man,” or “the power pill”.   The FDA confirmed that patients are able to order erectile dysfunction medications without a prescription from on-line pharmacies. The label on these unapproved drugs states that the products are manufactured in India by Acme Generics.

In addition to there being no guarantee that these medications are manufactured to FDA standards, patients accessing these medications without a prescription or advice from a health care provider may be at risk for adverse effects and drug interactions.  Patients with hypotension, uncontrolled hypertension, other cardiac conditions or on concurrent nitrates are most at risk.
