You are working with a patient diagnosed with bipolar depression. The patient’s nurse informs you that the patient is in the manic phase today. What characteristics should you be prepared to encounter during this phase?

  1. The patient may report that they feel guilty that they require so much attention
  2. The patient may show disinterest in the therapy session and have poor concentration
  3. The patient may act erratically, be highly distractible, and communicate with rapid speech
  4. The patient may report very low energy and want to sleep for most of the session

The solution will be posted in a few days
