Retinal angiomatosis (von Hippel disease). (A) Well-developed retinal lesions in this disorder appear as a discrete retinal angioma (arrow) with an enlarged feeder artery and draining vein, as seen in this photograph. (B) Retinal angiomas can cause an exudative retinopathy with severe visual consequences, as seen in a different patient with retinal angiomatosis. Note the retinal detachment above the optic disc and extensive subretinal and intraretinal exudates.
