RATIONALE: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a condition caused by compression of the median nerve as it passes through the carpal tunnel in the wrist. 

The affected sensory areas on the anterior aspect are the thumb, index finger, middle finger, and the lateral half of the ring finger (radial side). The affected sensory areas on the posterior aspect are the distal tips of the index finger, middle finger, and lateral half of the ring finger.

The little finger (5th digit) is not involved.
